Iowa GOP chairman says only thing Dems have done is 'unite Iowans behind' Trump

By Sarah Downey | Jan 1, 2020

With just over one month until the Feb. 3 Iowa caucuses, the state GOP has provided perspective on some of the Democrat candidates’ recent activity on its website.

A November post on the Iowa GOP website states that some candidates have been touting policies like government-run health care and the Green New Deal, which it says could cost taxpayers $125 trillion, and require tax hikes that would threaten Iowa’s small businesses and family farms.

“That’s why it comes as no surprise that several 2020 campaigns are beginning to crumble. Joe Biden is on the cusp of suffering a 'humiliating loss' in Iowa..." the website states.

Jeff Kaufmann, chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa, described the Democrats as "contortionists" striving to appease the far-left base.

“They will twist and bend their so-called principles any way necessary to stand out,” Kaufmann said. “But at the end of the day, the only thing these clowns have done is unite Iowans behind President Donald Trump.”
