Gov. Kim Reynolds (R-Iowa) took a tour of the northeast part of the state to see how residents were faring during the global pandemic.
Reynolds made her first stop in Waukon where she helped church volunteers load food boxes onto trucks, according to KWWL.
Church volunteers said there was a constant line all morning, according to KWWL.
"We started out thinking, could we possibly give a truckload of food away? And it's actually been quite the opposite," resident Marlan Minks said.
Reynolds had a cup of coffee at S&D Cafe in Waukon after loading the trucks. The governor then went to Decorah to talk health care, the KWWL reported.
The staff at Gundersen Health said the meeting was productive.
"She did offer us updates about the COVID task force and the work that they're doing, and that they're trying to get a Test Iowa site up in northeast Iowa," resident Stephanie Hill told KWWL.
