Of the 241 people living in Alta Vista in 2019, 46.1 percent (111) were women and 53.9 percent (130) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the NE Iowa News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 85-to-69. In the 65 and over age range, there were 35 females and 28 males.
