Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital recently issued the following announcement.
Winneshiek Medical Center (WMC) will hold the Hospice ride and breakfast on September 12. The event is organized by WMC Hospice in partnership with Iron Hill Harley Davidson of Waukon. Breakfast will include egg bake, cinnamon rolls, fruit and coffee or juice, which will be hosted in the courtyard outside the Winneshiek Medical Center Cafeteria from 9-10:30am. All are welcome to attend and free will donations will be accepted.
“This year the ride will be focused on fund raising for complementary therapy, including massage and music. The funds will also support the purchasing a delivery van. The van will be used to deliver large equipment such as lifts, hospital beds and specialized chairs to patients and families.” says Nancy Haberichter, director of Hospice at WMC.
Bikes and cars will be taking off at 11:00 am from WMC to begin the poker run. All bikes and cars are invited to sign-in from 9-10:30 a.m. The ride entry fee is $15 per person. The ride will take a tour of the beautiful roads of Northeast Iowa and will end at Pulpit Rock Brewing Co. in Decorah at 4:30 p.m. with a silent auction, door prizes and refreshments.
WMC’s Hospice mission is to provide end-of-life care that ensures quality of life, compassion and comfort for patients and their loved ones. “We have received such wonderful support from the communities we serve which in turn makes us all partners in our hospice mission.” says Nancy Haberichter, Director of Hospice. WMC Hospice Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in the counties of: Allamakee, Clayton, Chickasaw, Fayette, Howard and Winneshiek.
