Northeast Iowa Community College is planning on allowing students to return for in-person learning for the fall semester.

The college is planning to slowly and safely allow students, faculty and staff to return to campus for in-person education, KCRG reported.

On Thursday, Aug. 20, face-to-face learning will resume on campus. The college will also be offering online, hybrid and online synchronous classes for the fall semester.

While Northeast Iowa Community College will be offering in-person classes, if health and safety recommendations suggest or the need to move away from in-person learning arises, the college will do so.

“We must be patient and cautious in our reopening plan,” Northeast Iowa Community College President Dr. Liang Chee Wee told KCRG. “My philosophy is to open up slowly and methodically in an effort to avoid taking steps backwards. Be assured that providing a safe environment in our top priority.”

Face coverings will be required for anyone on campus. More information on the reopening plans can be found here
