50 percent of applicants to Upper Iowa University were admitted for fall 2018

At Upper Iowa University, 65 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 61 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Fayette enrolled 4,392 students in fall 2018, including 3,741 in undergraduate and 651 in graduate programs, data shows. 5.4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

42 percent of undergraduates are residents of Iowa, and 55 percent are residents of other states. 3 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (62 percent) and Black or African American (20 percent).

The school admitted 50 percent of the 1,791 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 19 percent enrolled.
