Cost of college went up for all students at Luther College

Tuition and fees rose 3.1 percent for 2018-19 at Luther College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Iowa students paid $42,290 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,270 more than the $41,020 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 516 students received grants or scholarships totaling $15.1 million and 335 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.9 million.

Including all undergraduates (2,005), 2,001 students used grants or scholarships totaling $56.1 million, and 1,331 students took out $9.9 million in federal student loans.
