Democrat Kayla Koether lost her election bid for House District 55 to Republican incumbent Michael Bergan.
In a statement on Facebook, Koether conceded, thanking her supporters and volunteers.
“It’s with heavy but resilient hearts that we thank our volunteers and each and every supporter of this campaign for standing with us as we embarked again on our mission to revitalize Northeast Iowa together. We should be proud of all that we accomplished in this campaign and the relationships we built with our neighbors. I have so much gratitude for each of you and I know that we will all continue to work hard to make our communities healthy and strong. We’ll never give up on Home.
“It’s been humbling and such an honor to be on the ballot. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of this grassroots campaign,” she said.
