Caleb Padilla Not Returning as Luther College Football Coach

1

Luther College issued the following announcement on Nov. 12.

Luther College Director of Athletics Renae Hartl has announced that Luther College Head Football Coach Caleb Padilla will not return for the 2022 football season.

"We want to thank Coach Padilla for the time and commitment he has given to his student-athletes, staff, and our institution for the past seven years, first as the defensive coordinator and the last four as head coach," said Hartl.

"Luther football has certainly fallen on tough times as of late. We are taking a hard look at what changes need to be made to accomplish our mission of fielding a successful football program. First and foremost, we will begin a national search for a head coach to assess and renew the program culture and help lead us towards that mission. During the search we will also be utilizing the knowledge and passion for Luther football from our network of successful football alumni."

"Assistant coaches Raven Battle, Brian Frana, Tim Yourison '06, and Erik Maath '07 will be leading the football program at this time."

Fans, families and alums will have their first opportunity to connect and visit with our coaching staff on Thursday, Nov. 18 during ONE TEAM DAY.
